Rx Brown Bag Senior Medication Session

Wednesday May 28, 2008 from 9 to 11am

A Kaiser Pharmacist will be at the Florence Douglas Senior Center To answer all your medication questions.
This includes prescription / non prescription medications.

You must bring all the medicine you are taking (prescription/non-prescription) in order for you to be seen. A written list of your medication will be accepted. Any questions and to register, call the Florence Douglas Senior Center

Elder Health Nurse
Public Health Nurse Joyce Goodwin meets with seniors 60+ to assess their health status and suggest ways to maintain or improve their health. Assessment includes height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and blood test for diabetes, hearing screening, mouth, skin, and foot exams. Assess nutritional status and diet, medication use, activity level, immunization status, health habits, and chronic health problems. Persons with suspected health problems are referred to a physician, dentist, or other community service. Call 643-1044 to make or cancel appointments.

Grief Counceling Group with Clairemarut Evasco
This grief/loss support group offers help on various issues, including the loss of a loved one. It is facilitated by therapist Clairemarut Evasco and is limited to 12 participants. Clairemarut Evasco is a licensed marriage and family therapist. I She has worked in the field of bereavement for over ten years. She will provide support and knowledge about grief and the bereavement process. Join the group to learn about: tools that assist you in the grieving process, the stages of grief expressing your grief in healthy ways, joining others to learn how to give during time of loss/grief, the courage to grieve. self-care for healthy grieving.

HICAP - One-on-one consulting on medicare coverage.
Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) representative will meet with clients on the 4th Friday of each month by appointment only. Please call 1-800-434-0222. HICAP provides objective information and assistance to people who need help in understanding Medicare, supplemental insurance, long-term care insurance, senior HMO plans, and assistance with Medicare billing and claims'.
